It doesn't seem so long ago, when Jayne and I sat around my kitchen table and had one of those light bulb moments, that was to become The Original Vintage & Handmade Fair.. an event to be held for all fellow blogging pals who had a vested interest in the world of vintage lifestyle and design. That moment was back in August 2008 and our first fair was held in Rangeworthy Village hall that same October. We were not prepared for the amazing support and enthusiasm we received for our first event.. The queues went round the block and the messages in the visitors book begged for more of these events as they were a breath of fresh air to the many folk who had travelled far and wide to come to our first humble event. The BBC Homes & Antiques Magazine.. did us proud and featured our first vintage fair in a four page article.. and we have been fortunate to welcome them to many more of our events ever since.
The V & H as it has become known.. has gone from strength to strength and from those small beginnings we now hold four fairs a year at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall, alongside our ever popular jumble sales which are held, where it all began, in the village hall in Rangeworthy and also the village of Box in Wiltshire.
Jayne and I have been so grateful for the continued and loyal support of so many of our original exhibitors who have attended a number of our fairs over the years. Not to mention our visitors who still come from far and wide.. even from overseas.
We are rightfully proud of our event and the friends and many folk we have met along the way and would like to make it clear that we are not affiliated with any other event that uses the 'Vintage & Handmade Fair' name.. nor the use of our original logos.. created by myself ( Michele) for the Christmas and Spring Fairs that we held in 2009.
